Medal Tally at 11

Gibraltar 2019 Island Games Day

A few more medals to add to our tally, mainly coming once again from the ranges taking Gibraltar’s tally to 11 so far, 2 Golds, 6 Silvers and 3 Bronze.

Mairead Sheriff and Kristina Hewitt got the first medal of the day for the ISSF 50m 3 Position Smallbore Rifle Team Open with a total score of 2161, with Enrique Bonifacio and James Scott just missing out of the podium in 4th place.

Mairead earned her second silver for the day with a 239.2 on the ISSF 10m Air Rifle Women’s event.

Lastly it was the usual suspects Jonathan Patron and Daniel Payas who claimed another silver medal in the Men’s ISSF 50m Free Pistol Team event with  total combined score of 928.

Judo was the other sport which claimed success for Gibraltar.  Ethaniel Mor claiming silver in the 100+ Kg Judo individual category, losing out to Edvard Sigurdsen Johannesen from the Faroe Island.

The Beach volleyball is still in the group stages with the local teams facing very tough opposition.  In the men’s category Jordan Perez and Dylan Gomez have lost their three matches played so far with Henry Earle and Jakub Prudcienika having won 1 game from 3 against the pair form Bermuda by with a 2-1 score.

As for the women Charlene Olivero and Emilia Zivkovic have lost 3 their 3 games played with Emma Labrador and Carla Diana Carlin having won 1 game from their 3 played against Bermuda.
