Gotland Island Games 2017

The Gibraltar Triathlon once again managed a podium position in the team event following a very tough race where the swim had to be cut short to just over 500m due to the very bad sea conditions but nonetheless taking its toll physically on all taking part.

no less than 63 competitors took part in the race with just 2 having to pull out at in stage.  The eventual race winner was Daniel Halksworth from Jersey in a time of 1:45.00 followed by Niel Riudavets Victory from Menorca and Bobby Oag from Orkney in 1:46.46 and 1:46.59 respectively.

Andrew Gordon was our first athlete home in 7th place with a time of 1:48.11 followed by Chris Walker 13th in 1:52.22 and Robert Matto 17th in 1:54.01, following the final timings and relevant scores given the Gibraltar team once proved worth their endless hours or training and dedication which is needed for this very tough sport.

As for the rest of the team they also gave a great account of themselves in what was a very tough race indeed.
